FT‑30 – Qualitative fit test kit, bitter taste

The qualitative fit testing device 3M™ FT‑30 (bitter) is designed to check the seal between a respirator and the user's face. It can be used with any particulate respirator or gas/vapor respirator equipped with a prefilter. The test relies on a solution containing sodium saccharin, producing an aerosol with a bitter taste that allows for the detection of a potential leak.

The FT‑30 model meets the performance criteria required by the standard CSA Z94.4 on respirator fit testing as well as by the American standard OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, Appendix A. The kit includes sensitivity and test solutions, a test hood, nebulizers, and the necessary parts to carry out the complete qualitative test.

This device allows organizations to conduct the required tests as part of respiratory protection programs that comply with Canadian and American regulatory requirements.
